Not only does the Discovery come standard with a panoramic roof—a feature that’s only found optionally with the Q5—but it also comes with the option to select a black contrast roof. A similar feature is unavailable with the Audi.

The Audi Q5 comes with five different packages. Two of these packages adjust the vehicle’s appearance by adding exterior accents while the other three add premium amenities.

In addition to several protection, convenience, and design packages, the Discovery comes with six different packages. Some of the popular packages include the Cold Climate Pack, which includes features like a heated windshield and washer jets, and the Comfort Pack, which includes a center console refrigerator, cabin air purifier, and more.

Not only does the Discovery offer more package options, but it also offers features you won’t find with the Q5.

While on long trips, the Discovery makes it easy to keep your phone fully charged thanks to its standard wireless charger, something you won’t find with the Q5.

Beyond connection capabilities, the Discovery continues to go above and beyond thanks to its optional Meridian™ Sound System. This award-winning audio experience features 14 speakers, Meridian™ Cabin Correction, and other advanced sound engineer technology to create an authentic concert hall experience.

Despite offering more speakers, the optional Bang & Olufsen® sound system with the Q5 doesn’t come with nearly as much audio-correction technology.

In addition to entertainment features, the Discovery and the Q5 are equipped with innovative safety features. Similarities between the two SUVs include standard emergency braking and blind spot monitoring. Sadly for Q5 drivers, that’s where the similarities end.

The Discovery takes safety to new levels with additions like Traffic Sign Recognition and Lane Keep Assist. One of the safety features everyone can benefit from is the standard 3D Surround Camera. This provides a 360-degree overhead view so you can clearly see any obstacles around your SUV.

This feature is offered with the Q5, although it’s only found on higher trim levels, whereas it’s standard with the Discovery.

The Audi Q5 and the Discovery make it easy to feel like a professional driver while you’re on your way to work thanks to their engines. Despite each SUV offering a 2.0L turbocharged configuration, there are major differences in engine output.
